Almoradi
The location of Almoradi is in the south east of Spain in the area known as the Costa Blanca, which is in the province of Alicante. One of the best ways to find your way to the town of Almoradi is via the local motorway which is excellent. The motorway stretches all the way down the east coast. You will find two airports in the location which are near enough for you to really make it worth your while. The first airport is to the south and is known as San Javier Murcia. Although it is in the province of Murcia, it is quite a distance away from the city itself. The second airport is the North just outside Elche. This airport is known as Alicante airport.
As legend has it, Almoradi was founded in the year 1196 BC. During its long years, many different nations have conquered this land and disappeared again. These peoples include the Romans, the Greeks and Carthaginians, then came the Visigoths, after that the Moors conquered much of this land and were here for a few centuries until it was finally beaten by the Kings of Aragon and Spain had finally gone through its Reconquista. There was an earthquake in this area in 1829. That earthquake destroyed much of the area including the town of Almoradi. Although the townsfolk managed to salvage some of the architectural pieces which they incorporated into the buildings that were subsequently erected, 192 people lost their lives in Almoradi and many more were injured. When the town was finally re-erected, the planners took advantage of a new palette. They rebuilt the town incorporating very wide, long and straight streets.
There is so much to do around this area in general that you will never be stuck for something to do. Almoradi can be a very charming place just to walk around. There are plenty of different restaurants or small bars where you can stop to refresh yourself throughout your journey. The beach is only 20 minutes drive away so you have the best of both worlds. The town itself is going to give you that peace and tranquility that is away from the hustle and bustle of the major tourist areas yet you are very close to those tourist amenities when you want to partake in then. Benidorm, home of the party night, is about an hour’s drive away along the motorway. In Benidorm you can also take advantage of the fun parks known as Terra Mitica. If you’re into a bit of golf, Almoradi golfing has a lot to offer. There are golf courses everywhere in this country and especially in this province.
