Butterfly Pinch Pleated Drapes
There are few different options available if you are after pinch pleated drapes. My favourite type is the butterfly pleats. In case you don’t know about pleated drapes, they are basically like a normal curtain, but the top has been pinched together at regular intervals to form a pleated effect that runs down the length of the curtain. This style of curtain has been around for hundreds of years, and remains a traditional favourite today. The butterfly pleat is one that is pinched about two inches below the top of the curtain, and then goes from narrow up to wider at the top, similar to a Chinese fan.
Many people like the effect the pleat gives the bottom of the curtain, but do not necessarily want to see the pinch at the top. A great way to solve this is to use valances or cornices, and if you get them to match your curtain, then you’ll have a nice uniform finish for your window.
