Since grenades usually shoot pellets out in a three-dimensional, spherical pattern, you should get the grenade in the center of all your enemies. This way, you have the highest chance of hitting them all. If you feel you need to practice throwing grenades, then you should do so. Just make sure that during practice, you do not arm the grenade, as then you will waste a lot of pellets for no reason (although you may want to do one or two live practices to get a feel for the specific trajectories of pellets after activation).

]]>For cyclists on the road, a pair of cycle glasses can often be the only protection against such flying debris, and not wearing them could result in serious eye injury or accidents. So road cycling glasses are as important as bike helmets. If you are on the road for any extended period of time, most glasses also have coatings to absorb the suns UV rays, which is also very important.
For the off road cyclist, the BMXer or mountain biker, the nature of the terrain is very different to the generally smooth surface of the highways. These guys will be doing jumps, they will be on rough and bumpy mud tracks and there will be trees all around them. For these reasons eye protection is of critical importance. But because the tracks are bumpy, often a normal pair of cycling glasses will not be satisfactory, as they can fall off the head very easily after a crash landing from a stunt. The answer is to use cycle goggles instead. They offer all round eye protection as they fit snugly around them tight to the face, but they are held on by an elasticated strap. This means it is far more difficult for them to fall off, and usually it’s the crashes that remove normal glasses where you need your eye protection the most; for example, imagine hurtling up a hill doing a jump and flying into the branches of a tree!
So the general rule is that cycling glasses are fine for riding the roads, but if you want to go off roading and onto the dirt tracks, switch over to cycling goggles instead for extra protection.

]]>For road-running, a high quality pair of rubber soled running shoes is fine, and once you know what works for you, it is best to try and stick to that brand and range. So for me, it’s a hard-working pair of Saucony Rides – actually I’m just breaking in the second generation Ride 2 shoes at the moment. If you switch to cross country running, you will more 
likely need a pair of long distance running spikes.
The spiked running shoes used for cross country courses are very different from the more familiar ones you might see sprinters wearing. They have substantially more cushioning and padding to enhance comfort. For this reason, they will be heavier than a sprinter’s spikes, but you will be running considerably further than 100 meters. The actual spikes themselves – the teeth that do the gripping – will be slightly longer too, and the angles they protrude from the sole may be different, as your running surface will be less predictable. There might be soft mud or uneven ground and your spikes will need to be able to handle any of these problems to stop you from slipping and sliding. Usually it is these unpredictable slips that can lead to pulled muscles and other frustrating injuries that take weeks to recover from.
So when you look for cross country or long distance running spikes, make sure to look out for some of these extra features, and don’t be persuaded into buying something you don’t need (eg sprinters’ spikes, which will be useless and painful). Most spiked running shoes have detachable pins these days, and this will be an important factor for your cross country shoes. You will be able to remove the spikes on hot dry days when the ground is hard, or screw them in for a race in rainy weather.

]]>One of my favorite basketball shooting drills is called the two chair drill. What you will need is a basketball, a basketball stand, and two chairs. Set the chairs about 10 feet apart with the backs of the chairs facing the basketball goal. Then place a the basketball in one of the chairs. The purpose of this shooting drill is to learn how to shoot the basketball off of the dribble. Stand at the chair that has the basketball in it and then run and tap the empty chair. Run 
back to the chair with the basketball and scoop up the ball with your hand and take a dribble or two and shoot the basketball. This drill is also great for helping you to follow your shot. After you shoot, go and get the rebound and then place the basketball in the other chair. You will then repeat the process over again.
This drill works best if you have a timer. Set the clock for 2 minutes and see how many baskets you can score in that time frame. Then have a competition with either yourself or with someone else and see if you can break the highest scoring record. The genius of this drill is that it simulates what real basketball playing is like. You normally have to run around the court to get open and you have to shoot the ball when you are tired. Do not just shoot open shots thinking that it is going to make you a basketball star. You need to practice performing the right basketball drills if you want to get to the next level.
