Cost of Liposuction Procedures
Liposuction is the process of removing fats from the body using a tube that is injected into the targeted areas. The fats are extracted through the insertion of a series of small, thin tubes or cannulas which are connected to a large suction syringe or vacuum pump. Each cannula is inserted in such a way which breaks down the fat cells which are then suctioned out via the vacuum pump or suction syringe.
One of the key question people have is how much does liposuction cost. Unfortunately, there is no standard pricing as the cost of liposuction varies according to many factors. These include technique used, your surgeon’s fees, theater booking fee, after surgery care and the areas and size that is being operated. On top of that, the patient also has to foot the cost of pre-operative tests, post-operative compression garments, antibiotics and other drugs.
Despite numerous costs being involved in a surgery, it is still possible to find surgeons offering cheap liposuction. Some surgeons offer lower fees because they cut down on areas like the theatre booking fee, reduce the number of days a patient stays in the hospital after the surgery and their booking fees itself. These surgeons usually provide no frills service that eliminates expenses associated with any additional services or luxury items.
However, be wary of doctors who try to cut cost by offering poor post-surgical care or by using cheap medicine that might not be suitable for you. Some of these con doctors may not be professionally trained and would not know the proper techniques of conducting a procedure. When something goes awry, they might not know how to handle the situation. The consequences of such an event might be fatal. If the surgery leads to infection of the blood tissues or veins, the patient might have to undergo blood transfusion or other surgeries to handle the complications. If the patient is ‘lucky’, the mishap might lead to a botched area or bruising and scarring with no major internal damage.
