Cystic Acne Natural Treatment Options
My favorite natural cystic acne treatment is a simple one, lemon juice. I use it for regular acne as well but for that I dilute it with water, for more severe acne, such as cystic acne, I use it full strength. The reason that lemon juice is a great cystic acne natural treatment is because it is very acidic. This does two things to treat your cystic acne. First, it will dry the excess oil from your skin which is where bacteria causing acne live. Second it will actually kill bacteria if used long enough. It does this because the type of bacteria that cause acne cannot live in highly acidic conditions. I have used many over-the-counter treatments and none of them measure up to this one.
Now, this isn’t necessarily advice that your doctor or dermatologist is likely to offer, so please be advised. This is just something that has worked for me. I was tired of using the expensive products that were touted as the next cure for my acne problems. I didn’t want to have to have another product fail to live up to its expectations and claims. So, I did what many other people are doing more and more; I tried a a natural approach. This is not the advice I would give to someone who is on medications for their skin or other issues, because the lemon juice might make your skin that much more susceptible to irritation or sun damage. Again, this is another reason to consult with your dermatologist or doctor regarding any interference with your medications. Don’t expect them to endorse or even support your decision to use lemon juice, however. In most cases, they will likely try to get you to just go down the pharmaceuticals route. If you want to go this path, then by all means, your skin is yours. But, if you’d like to try a more natural treatment option for your cystic acne, you might consider giving this a try.
