Two Great Things About Taking a Holiday In Cornwall
Aside from the obvious natural beauty of Cornwall there is also the Culture and Food to enjoy.
If you are looking for a cultured side to Cornwall, St Ives must be visited. Here, artists flock because of the light – When you are standing on the beach the sand looks like it’s being lit from underneath. St Ives truly is a magical place; its cobbled streets are lined row upon row of individual arts and craft shops together with galleries and workshops of local artists. This area of the world is home to a host of working artists and the atmosphere reflects this. Up on the hill, the Tate Gallery and the Barbara Hepworth are also worth a visit.
On the south coast of Cornwall – Falmouth is also home to a plethora of galleries and contemporary arts. It has an award winning University for artists and writers and also has a marine college. Falmouth actually received its Royal charter in 1661. This followed the end of the Civil War and the reinstatement of the Monarchy. It’s also known because of its unique location to open sea and the trading routes from the UK & Northern Europe to the rest of the World.
Porthcurno’s Minack Theatre, Tintagel, The Eden project and St Michael’s Mount in Marazion are among the main places of interest in Cornwall during your visit.
Cornish cream tea, pasties and saffron cake are the simplicities of Cornish food that we all know and love but it has also become the home of great foodies like Rick Stein and Jamie Oliver. Both have set up their award winning Michelin Star restaurants serving some of the local produce that the Cornish are proud to call theirs. However, if that seems like a few too many pennies- I’m always an advocate of fish and chips whilst looking over at the sea.
If you’d like to take a break in Cornwall there is no better type of accommodation than a log cabin. Logcabinholidaysdirectory.co.uk has a comprehensive list of log cabins available to hire throughout the UK including log cabin holidays in Cornwall.
