Learning How To Achieve Astral Projection
Astral projection is the amazing experience of the consciousness leaving the physical body to explore and interact with the world in quite different ways than what most of us are accustomed to. The separation from the physical body unbounds the self from the laws of physical matter and immediately reveals that our true identities are not dependent upon the physical aspects of the universe. It is a startling state to be in but it is also quite enjoyable as one can fly around, meet other beings and go through matter – amongst other things.
Learning astral projection for beginners can be tricky. It requires a particular state of consciousness that differs from
our usual day-to-day state of mind. When we are working or are busy – as is usually the case in modern societies – our brains are producing beta brainwaves between 12 and 30 Hz. These are somewhat fast and active frequencies that put us in a state of mind where we can function adequately throughout the day. To achieve astral projection consciously, however, one needs to get into a state where brainwaves are much slower. Technically, it is when the brain produces theta frequencies between 4 and 8 Hz that the projection of consciousness outside of the body can occur.
For the brain to generate theta frequencies, one needs to relax deeply. These are the same kinds of frequencies generated by the brain during deep meditation and certain types of dream activity. It does require significant amounts of practice to get to the theta state as the modern mind is rife with distractions and plagued with a short attention span. But there is a powerful audio tool that can help tremendously for this: brainwave entrainment.
Brainwave entrainment recordings are repetitive sound tones that entrain or synchronize brainwaves to the same frequencies of the sounds themselves. It is a sort of brain frequency hypnotism. As an individual listens to a theta brainwave entrainment recording for only 15 to 25 minutes, his or her brainwave frequencies gradually slow down to the theta rate. It is a safe and effective way to bring about altered states of consciousness. Once the listener is in the theta state, he or she is in an optimal state to project the consciousness out of the body. Exit techniques will have to be learned, but the sounds will have brought the individual’s mind to the required state to begin an out of body experience exploration.
