New Torrent User Guide – Basic Torrent Terms
For anyone who is unfamiliar with torrents, all the common terms used when talking about or using torrents can seem like a foreign language. To help any new torrent user, or anyone who is trying to learn more about the torrent file transfer system, I created a guide that details all of this. Common torrent terms like uploader, download, peers, peer swarm, seeding, and leeching are all defined clearly at the bottom of the guide. The first section of the guide offers general torrent information. This guide is intended as an introduction, and covers all the basics with common questions and answers new torrent users have.
Understanding how the torrent client connects the uploader (person with the file or data information you are trying to download) with you (the leecher); as well as knowing what roll the torrent tracker (site that hosts the .torrent file) plays in the file exchange is essential. If you don’t understand this process you will be more likely to download information from an unsafe source, or not know what steps you need to take in order to prevent harm to your computer. If you are attempting to find torrent sites that host game torrent files, or other popular media like, music, movies, and television shows, understanding these basic torrent concepts will help you stay safe and make smart choices.
