Do the P90X Workout Videos Work?
Do the P90X workout videos work?
Since it is the spring season everyone is starting to get serious about getting into shape for summer. There has been a lot of buzz around the P90X workout video series, which includes a series of videos that work out your entire body. The videos bring extreme training to your home. The workout package includes numerous DVDs along with a diet guide. The program is meant to be completed 90 days in a row, however, for most people that is not realistic. Many have noticed great results just doing the videos 2-4 times a week. If you are not already in decent shape then it is recommend do the lean version of P90X first. This program is only for those who are serious and committed to getting in shape. Most of the videos are around one hour however the Yoga is an hour and 30 minutes.
The best part about of P90x that separates it from other workout programs is it isolates different muscles in each video. The video series also includes a cardio, kempo, and a plyometric routine. The plyometric video is a very difficult cardio exercise that includes a lot of jumping and leg workout. In my opinion plyometrics is too tough for most people to do without pushing pause to catch your breath. For some, you may not need to, although the majority of us do not exercise on such an intense level regularly. An extra boost that Tony Horton (the creator of P90X) adds to each day is the Ab Ripper video. This may be a short 12-minute ab workout, but it burns as you do 25 reps of 15 different abs back to back. It is difficult to push yourself to do the Ab Ripper video after you have completed an hour workout video prior. However the Ab Ripper workout comes in handy when you have a little time to kill and want to squeeze in a workout.
One thing to realize is, these videos will be an investment. Expect to pay at $100 or more for this set of videos. The investment is worth it if you are serious about getting into shape. Many people pay hundreds a month for personal trainers, so this program may be worth it and just the extra push you are looking for to get the body you are looking for this summer.
