The Art of Choosing Purple Rugs
Choosing a rug is all about finding something you love as well as something which will go with your interior. Before you let your heart rule your head however you do need to think about what your requirements are so that when you go looking for purple rugs you don’t come home with something totally unsuitable. If you’re not sure about where to begin when deciding the right kind of rug to choose, here are a few tips to help you out.
A light lilac rug is a very different kettle of fish from a dark aubergine one. The first would look good in a romantic room or a little girl’s bedroom and the second would be better in a contemporary living room. Get a paint color chart and start considering which color will work best in your room.
2. Which Shape?
You’ll find round purple rugs look fantastic at the center of a large floor area especially one which is somewhat square in shape whereas they will be hopeless in a narrow hall where you should be looking for a purple rug runner. Most of this is common sense but sometimes common sense flies out the window when you are faced with a beautiful rug you want to buy!
3. Which Size
A tiny round rug will have no impact on your huge floor area while a rug which is too big will seem to “shrink” the size of your room. You probably have a general idea about what size you want but as the price changes considerably depending on the size you go for you may find yourself tempted to buy one which is a little on the small side. If you are not sure about dimensions, draw out different sizes of rug with chalk or by using a piece to string and see what would work best.
