Resistance heat is also clean and safe, but it is somewhat more expensive to operate the system that to operate a heat pump. You will find that there are many styles of resistance heaters. Some older homes may have forced air resistance furnaces. These furnaces are effective at heating the home, but may be found to be somewhat expensive to operate as they are less efficient than some other heating systems. Baseboard heat is easy to install and offers zone heating in a home. Each of the units may have their own thermostat to control the temperature. A disadvantage of baseboard heat is that the units prevent furniture from being placed against the wall. An alternative to resistance heating is to go with infrared heating for your heating needs.
