Simple Cat Toys Are Best
Cats are very inquisitive, playful creatures. They love to stalk and ambush anything that moves, be it an innocent bug, or an owners bouncing foot. But cats get bored easily, and this pent up energy has to come out somehow, such as maniacal ears-pinned-back running streaks through the house.
Cat toys are an excellent way to relieve your cat of excess liveliness. There are many types of toys for cats available at pet stores and in the pet aisle of the grocery store. Since felines are so inquisitive, or a better choice of words could be nosy, toys that make them think are fun for both owner and cat. One toy that will put your cat’s mind to work is made with a ball inside a round tube. Pushing the ball around the tube will keep your cat busy for hours as he tries to figure the contraption out.
Toys with feathers on the end of a stick are fun for felines and owner, and involves both participants to play. The owner takes the stick and flicks it around the cat or runs it along the ground. A cat cannot resist the temptation to chase the flickering feathers. With this toy it is best to put it up when you are done playing so your cat doesn’t eat the feathers. Balls are another favourite cat toy. A ball bounced along the floor is irresistible. Any ball will do, but they especially enjoy balls that have bells inside, and ones that are very bouncy.
Another favourite toy for cats are little furry mice with long tails. Some you can even purchase with catnip inside. The tiny mice are perfect to sharpen your cats hunting, stalking and killing skills. Also, any toys for cats that have catnip inside are good. Cat nip is like a drug to your cat. He will leap, climb, crawl and fetch for cat nip cat toys.
You don’t have to just get cat toys you purchase at the store or online, but you can have just as much fun with homemade toys for cats. An empty paper bag is overwhelmingly appealing to your cat, especially if you run your fingers along the outside of the bag. Empty boxes also have great allure for a playful feline.
Your cat will thoroughly enjoy hours of play with any toys you pick up for him, and you will enjoy hours of enjoyment watching him bounce, slide and scoot after them. Another great benefit from cat toys is it will tucker your tom out so both of you can get a peaceful night of sleep.
