Here are some habits to be adopted to enjoy a good night’s sleep:
* Make sure that your bedroom is dark and cool. Light, noise, and heat can hinder sleep. Try earplugs to avoid outside noise. Open the window to cool the room temperature. Use an eye mask to obstruct light.
* Practice a regular sleep routine, even during weekends. This will help you get back to your usual sleep rhythm.
* Stay away from any stimulating activities before going to bed. This includes forceful exercise, important discussions or arguments, and watching serious action on TV before bed.
* Limit the use of alcohol, caffeine, and nicotine. Avoid caffeinated drinks at least eight hours before bed. Stay away from drinking in the evening time. Though alcohol tends to make you sleepy, it is known to interfere with regular sleeping patterns and should, therefore, be avoided.
