With all of the information online about how to make money and the growing trend and desire to make money on Google people are starting to feel like an Internet business is a necessity. It’s certainly marketed to us as if it is one. How many times have you seen the phrase “fire your boss,” “quit your 9-5,” or “set your own hours?” These phrases, and more, are all over almost every website boasting a business opportunity.

But weeding through the careful wording with logic at the fore will allow you to discover the truth of the matter. As you’re searching for an online business that’s appropriate for you and fits your needs and budget, consider the following:

1. Why are you looking for an online business in the first place? Is it because you believe you can get rich overnight working from home? Or do you honestly want to make your own schedule? Do you need to be at home with your children, or be available to them for school activities? Do you have a relative that needs to be taken care of? Or do you just want to change your career? It’s important to know the reason you want to go off and spend money before actually doing so. Write down your reasons before you go searching. You should have at least 3-5 legitimate reasons for wanting an online business.

2. Is an online business comfortably within your budget? It costs money to run any type of business. If you’re under the impression that an online business is cheaper to run than a traditional brick-and-mortar store you may be in for a bit of a surprise. Marketing is expensive, no matter where you’re advertising. And starting up your business may require you to spend an amount of money you might have to save up for. Plus, there’s possible monthly fees to consider. Can you afford all of this without going out of your way or borrowing money? This is something to seriously think about.

3. Do you have the time to invest into getting your business off the ground? Despite the claims, online businesses don’t just spring up from the ground. After you pay the initial fee and get your website or product together, now you have to let people know what you have so that they can come to your site. Setting up ads, making your site appealing to consumers or visitors and singling yourself out among your competition are not things you’ll learn overnight. While you might feel that 10 minutes a day working on your business will suffice, you should also be prepared to have minimal results. Does that bother you? Rearranging your schedule might help, but if it’s proving difficult or absolutely impossible, perhaps you need to hold off on it for the time being.

My website isn’t really that big or impressive. Can I really make money on Google? What can Google really do to help me?

Google can help your website to make money. Certainly, Google can’t force people to visit your site or promise that everyone will want to buy something from you – but they can greatly increase your chances of being noticed, and they can even pay you to run some ads for other people.

The Google submit program is designed to get you onto the search engine’s result pages, where people can see your website when they search for a relevant topic. This can be a useful way to improve your site’s visibility. Some complain, however, that Google is too slow at getting their pages onto the results. If you need a faster way to get your page noticed, you can be automatically added to Google’s search results by making certain that your site has lots of links to it posted on other websites. Keeping your content unique, original, and interesting will boost your chances of being cited by another page.

Another way you can make money on Google is through Adwords or Adsense. These are Google’s online advertising programs, designed to help both you and Google make money.

Adwords is a program that allows you to pay Google to do your advertising for you. Google will post ads to your website on relevant search results or other relevant pages. You pay Google every time one of those ads is clicked on.

Adsense is the other side of the spectrum; Google pays you to allow these ads onto your website. This means you can run ads that are relevant to your webpage, and every time one of your viewers clicks on an ad, you get paid a portion of Google’s profit from the ad. It may not buy you a brand new car, but it could put a little extra money in your pocket.
