There are many different kind of fireplace tools and accessories but some are more common than others. Perhaps the most common is a fireplace tool set. This set of tools consists of a stand that holds the four implements. In the stand there is typically a shovel, a brush, tongs, and a poker. The shovel and brush are to help you remove ashes from the fireplace. The tongs and poker are to help move around logs so that the fire will burn more evenly. These are very common fireplace accessories and you may even find them next to an inoperable fireplace as decoration. Their presence makes the fireplace seem more authentic. There are many antique fireplace accessory sets that people can purchase for decoration. The really old ones may also include a fireplace blower which is an accordion like contraption that blows out air when the ends are pressed together.
