The Shark Infested Ocean of Betting Sites
A prime target for con-artists is people desperate to make money without putting in much effort. People like that are easy to entice. They have something they are looking for, to make money. And they have one demand, they want it to be easy.
Online sports betting fits in perfectly. People sign up with bookies looking to make an easy buck. What could be better than to sit on your couch and watch your favorite sport while the money is rolling in? Nothing, they feel. It makes them easy targets for scammers who promise, in return for a modest payment, to give you incredible, can’t-lose sports betting picks, that will make you a basically unlimited amount of money. This is of course not true.
Making money as a sports bettor takes effort, knowledge, and discipline. People looking here to make tons of money without putting in the work, are definitely barking up the wrong tree.
A prime example of this type of scam that has gained a lot of publicity due to it’s clever and relentless affiliate marketing campaign, is the sports betting champ system.
The site makes a lot of incredible claims. People who keep their senses should instantly recognize how absurd they are.
First and foremost, the site promotes it’s win rate, supposed to be the percentage of bets against the spread that was won, of 97 percent. Truly a spectacular number. But also a number that is just not possible.
How does the site arrive at this win rate then? Well, a common tactic among these types of scams, is to dismiss bets lost, due to a slew of bogus reasons. These reasons for bets being disregarded are of course never applied to bets that were won. This is all standard manipulation.
However, to further inflate the win rate, the site simply changes the definition of the statistic, without letting anyone know. Instead of the standard counting of one bet as lost or won, the bets are divided in to series of three bets, and only if all three bets are lost, it counts as one lost in the win rate calculation. Everytime a bet is won however, it counts as a win. This obviously means that two bets can be lost, the third one won, and it will count as a hundred percent win rate. Thus the statistic is left meaningless and useless.
If you are starting out as a sports bettor, do not be tempted by easy money. If you put in the required effort and discipline, you will become successful, if you do not, you will only lose money. It is as simple as that.
