Types of Acne Scars
Unfortunately not all acne scars are the same. Knowing which type of acne scar you have helps with the acne scar removal. One type of scarring is the ice pick scar which are narrow and form small pits in the skin. The most common of the scars by far. The next type of scar is the boxcar scar which usually forms around the temples and cheeks. They are sort of like chickenpox scars. The last type I’m going to mention is the rolling scar which gives your skin a wavy appearance. They are very shallow scars, usually easier to treat.
These scars can be divided into two general categories: keloids and hypertrophic. The keloid is expanding beyond the range of the original wound while the hypertrophic is contained in the original wound space and will often shrink on it’s own over time.
