The Wedding Party – Before, During and After
When you say or hear the term “wedding party”, what comes to mind is a party held several months before the wedding. However, that is not always the case. Strictly speaking, the party can be held before, on the day of the wedding and after the wedding. We already know about the pre-wedding party which is the one mentioned above, but how about the other two? What are the differences between the three?
The party held on the wedding day itself is called the wedding reception party or the reception for short. Like the other two parties, it needs planning and a well-coordinated effort to get things done. However, unlike the two other parties, this one is the most extravagant and the one with the most guests. This is when the majority of your friends will attend to celebrate the love between you and your partner. This party can be held at the same venue of the wedding ceremony or can be held someplace else much more suitable for the occasion.
On the other hand, the post-wedding party or what some call the after wedding party is somewhat more similar to the pre-wedding party. This party is smaller than the reception and less extravagant. This party is normally held to accommodate those who were not able to attend the reception. These include co-workers, acquaintances or family members who have to travel a long distance to celebrate your wedding. Or if the budget allows, this simply would be a continuation party for you, your friends and relatives who still wants to have some fun! You can take advantage of this party to show-off some pictures taken during the wedding or some videos recorded on the same day.
These are some of the differences between the three parties for weddings. Other than being different in timing, all three differ in purpose and attendance.
