Wedding Planning and Budget Reduction
Planning for your big day on a tight budget? There are hundreds of hidden charges which may take you over your total budget. Some of these hidden charges are revealed in a bill which comes after you’re home on the honeymoon. To avoid this nasty surprise, its important to read contracts from vendors very carefully.
Vendor contracts can contain hidden charges such as overtime for staff should the reception go past a certain period of time. Some caterers contract for an event in a bulk time, usually about 6 hours. Any time staff spends after that is overtime, and the couple is billed later. Caterers can also charge extra for services such as cutting a cake, as much as three dollars a slice. If there are 100 guests, this is an additional $300 tacked onto your catering bill.
Avoid extra charges, when you’re acting as your own wedding planner, by reading your contracts and asking your vendors what extra costs might be incurred.
