Why Use Digital Scrapbooking
Enthusiasts of scrapbooking, usually known as ‘scrapbookers’ normally start off with producing traditional scrapbooks. This involves using scrapbook kits to do manual cutting and pasting trimmings and embellishments onto decorated paper. Many of these traditional scrapbookers feel that the joy in creating a scrapbook is gained through the process and the end product is just a testament of the product. Hence, many frown at the idea of moving this process online saying that it will diminish the personal touch of creating a scrapbook. However, we cannot deny the many advantages that digital scrapbooks bring. Furthermore, migrating this process does not equate to a loss of personalization. In fact, with even greater resources available, one will be able to create even more designs and stretch their creativity.
Producing these scrapbooks online helps cuts many waste in terms of the paper and decorative items used. More often than not, we usually purchase an excess of materials and end up with buts and pieces of scrap that we dispose at the end of our project. This leads to a lot of materials being thrown away and money wasted. Hence, using online scrapbooking software rids us of the need to buy these resources. Furthermore, these digital resources can be re-used many times.
Memories won’t be destroyed
Another benefit of digital scrapbooking is the ability for the creators to save and store their scrapbooks. This ensures that the created masterpieces are well-protected from damage and won’t be destroyed. After creating these books, many users share them with their family and friends or upload them to external sites like Facebook or Flickr.
Existing resources won’t be edited
Imagine having the freedom to burn, cut, trim and tear an old photograph. All these functions would be available as options if the scrapbooks are created online. Furthermore, one would be able to use old photographs or memorabilia an unlimited number of times without bearing the guilt of destroying it.
