Window Curtain Design – Three Popular Styles
There are so many styles of window coverings out there that sometimes it can make your head spin. The two main groups are curtains and blinds, but within those two main types there are literally hundreds of different variations. As far as window curtain design, here are three of the most popular ones…
Sheer Curtains – This style of curtain is usually used on windows where you don’t necessarily need a lot of privacy, but do need to keep a bit if the sun out. The transparent nature of these curtains can give your room a light and airy look
Eyelet Curtains – As an alternative to curtain rings, eyelet curtain can give your windows a real sophistication. The rings are actually sewn directly into the fabric, creating a neat uniform look across your window
Tab Tops – This style of curtain is another alternative to rings. The material has hooks of material attached directly to the top of the curtain. These are extremely popular for kids rooms. They look more modern in some respects, as well. You can create a curtain quite simply by selecting the fabric material of your choice and then making your own tabs to attach to the top of the curtain panel. Then, you can just hang this on your rod. Makes for a great look.
While not necessarily a style all its own, it is a particular style unique mainly to the kitchen, so let’s discuss it briefly here.
Gingham – This is a type of curtain that is most popular in the kitchen area. They are well known by look and not always by name. These particular curtains have a checker-print pattern to them. They come in a variety of color choices, but the most popular is still the red and white checkered one. It is similar to the look of what you might find in a table cloth of an Italian restaurant but with a smaller square pattern. They are made of a nice cotton fabric material.
