Wine Refrigerators for the Modern Kitchen
In more kitchen remodeling projects, wine refrigerators are becoming a focal point. Wine can be quite expensive – especially if you have a large collection. Storing your fine wines in a regular kitchen fridge is not optimal to maintain their taste. So many homeowners are opting to purchase their own wine fridge that will maintain the perfect temperature for a variety of wines.
The perfect time to install a wine refrigerator is during a kitchen makeover. If you’re gutting the cabinetry, then an under counter model will be the best option as it will blend in with the rest of the appliances. Of course, an under counter fridge will be a bit more expensive than a freestanding cooler. So you will need to balance your budget while considering the aesthetics of the project.
There are other uses for these small refrigerators of course, but most are made for wine – at least, that is where the majority of the marketing of them comes into play. Since home renovation is something of a rite of passage at a certain age in our lives, it makes sense that installing a wine fridge is just part of that rite as well.
You might also have an outdoor kitchen beneath a patio cover or some other area. This is another great place for one of these smaller fridges. They fit perfectly beneath a counter top or bar. It can hold any number of beverages or items commonly used in a bar. This will make it much easier to mix drinks poolside or patio-side instead hauling all of the stuff out of your indoor kitchen. In addition to drinks, the fridge could hold your food items that you plan on cooking out on the grill. It is really, as the name suggests, a small version of your regular indoor refrigerator.
